Acceptance of Terms
Welcome to CampusConnect. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the CampusConnect platform, including our website, mobile applications, and all related services (collectively, the "Service").
By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not access or use the Service. We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time, and such modifications will be effective immediately upon posting.
Important: Your continued use of the Service after any modifications to these Terms constitutes your acceptance of the modified Terms. We encourage you to review these Terms periodically.

Eligibility
CampusConnect is designed exclusively for members of the academic community. To use our Service, you must meet the following eligibility requirements:
- You must be at least 18 years of age, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, whichever is greater.
- You must be currently enrolled as a student, employed as faculty or staff, or be a verified alumnus/alumna of an accredited educational institution.
- You must have a valid educational institution email address (.edu or equivalent) for verification purposes.
- You must not have been previously banned or removed from the Service.
- You must have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement.
We reserve the right to verify your affiliation with an educational institution at any time and to suspend or terminate your account if we cannot verify your eligibility.

Account Registration
To access certain features of the Service, you must register for an account. When registering, you agree to:
- Provide accurate, current, and complete information during the registration process.
- Maintain and promptly update your account information to keep it accurate, current, and complete.
- Maintain the security and confidentiality of your login credentials.
- Accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account.
- Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account or any other breach of security.
- Use only one account per person; creating multiple accounts is prohibited.
Account Security: You are solely responsible for safeguarding your password and for all activities that occur under your account. CampusConnect will not be liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to comply with this security obligation.

User Conduct and Prohibited Activities
You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree not to:
- Harass, bully, intimidate, or threaten other users.
- Post or transmit content that is defamatory, obscene, pornographic, or otherwise objectionable.
- Impersonate any person or entity, or falsely state or misrepresent your affiliation with a person or entity.
- Engage in any form of discrimination based on race, ethnicity, gender, religion, sexual orientation, disability, or any other protected characteristic.
- Upload or transmit viruses, malware, or any other malicious code.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' accounts or any part of the Service.
- Use the Service for any commercial purposes without our express written consent.
- Scrape, data mine, or use automated means to access the Service.
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers or networks connected to the Service.
- Violate any applicable local, state, national, or international law or regulation.
- Engage in academic dishonesty, including sharing exam answers, plagiarism, or cheating.
- Solicit personal information from minors or engage in any activity harmful to minors.

Content Guidelines
Users may post, upload, or share content on CampusConnect, including text, images, videos, and other materials ("User Content"). You are solely responsible for your User Content and the consequences of posting it.
By posting User Content, you represent and warrant that:
- You own or have the necessary rights to use and authorize us to use the content.
- Your content does not infringe upon the intellectual property rights, privacy rights, or any other rights of any third party.
- Your content complies with all applicable laws and regulations.
- Your content does not contain false, misleading, or deceptive information.
We reserve the right, but are not obligated, to monitor, edit, or remove any User Content that we determine, in our sole discretion, violates these Terms or is otherwise objectionable.
Content License: By posting User Content, you grant CampusConnect a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, and display such content in connection with operating and improving the Service.

Intellectual Property
The Service and its original content (excluding User Content), features, and functionality are and will remain the exclusive property of CampusConnect and its licensors. The Service is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
Our trademarks, service marks, and logos may not be used in connection with any product or service without our prior written consent. You agree not to:
- Copy, modify, or distribute any part of the Service without authorization.
- Use any CampusConnect branding, logos, or trademarks without written permission.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any aspect of the Service.
- Remove any copyright, trademark, or other proprietary notices from the Service.

Marketplace Terms
CampusConnect provides a marketplace feature that allows users to buy, sell, and trade items with other members of the campus community. The following terms apply to all marketplace transactions:
- CampusConnect acts solely as a platform to facilitate transactions between users; we are not a party to any transaction.
- Sellers are responsible for accurately describing items, setting fair prices, and fulfilling orders.
- Buyers are responsible for reviewing item descriptions and conducting due diligence before purchasing.
- All transactions must comply with applicable laws, including consumer protection regulations.
- Prohibited items include but are not limited to: illegal substances, weapons, counterfeit goods, stolen property, and age-restricted products.
- CampusConnect does not guarantee the quality, safety, legality, or availability of items listed.
- Users agree to meet in safe, public locations for in-person transactions.
- CampusConnect is not responsible for disputes between buyers and sellers; however, we may assist in mediation at our discretion.
Transaction Safety: We strongly recommend meeting in well-lit, public areas on campus for exchanges. Never share personal financial information through the platform, and report any suspicious activity immediately.

Privacy
Your privacy is important to us. Our collection, use, and disclosure of personal information is governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
By using the Service, you consent to the collection and use of your information as described in our Privacy Policy. Key privacy practices include:
- We collect information you provide directly, such as account information and content you post.
- We may collect usage data and technical information about your device and how you interact with the Service.
- We use your information to provide, maintain, and improve the Service.

Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CAMPUSCONNECT DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
- WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
- WARRANTIES THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE.
- WARRANTIES REGARDING THE ACCURACY, RELIABILITY, OR COMPLETENESS OF ANY CONTENT.
- WARRANTIES THAT DEFECTS WILL BE CORRECTED OR THAT THE SERVICE IS FREE OF VIRUSES OR OTHER HARMFUL COMPONENTS.
CampusConnect does not endorse, guarantee, or assume responsibility for any product or service advertised or offered by a third party through the Service.

Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL CAMPUSCONNECT, ITS AFFILIATES, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, OR AGENTS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
- Loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses.
- Damages resulting from unauthorized access to or alteration of your transmissions or data.
- Damages resulting from any conduct or content of any third party on the Service.
- Damages arising from marketplace transactions between users.
In no event shall our total liability to you for all claims exceed the amount you have paid to CampusConnect in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim, or one hundred dollars ($100), whichever is greater.
Note: Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain warranties or liabilities. In such cases, the limitations above may not apply to you, and you may have additional rights.

Termination
We may terminate or suspend your account and access to the Service immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason, including but not limited to:
- Breach of these Terms of Service.
- Violation of our Community Guidelines or other policies.
- Fraudulent, abusive, or illegal activity.
- Upon request by law enforcement or government agencies.
- Extended periods of inactivity.
- Technical or security issues.
Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease. If you wish to terminate your account, you may do so by contacting us or using the account deletion feature in your settings.
Provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination shall survive, including ownership provisions, warranty disclaimers, indemnity, and limitations of liability.

Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
Any disputes arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall be resolved through the following process:
- Informal Resolution: Before filing a formal dispute, you agree to contact us to attempt to resolve the dispute informally.
- Binding Arbitration: If informal resolution fails, disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the American Arbitration Association rules.
- Class Action Waiver: You agree that any disputes will be conducted on an individual basis and not as a class action or representative proceeding.
- Venue: Any litigation must be filed exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Wilmington, Delaware.
